As Saturn makes its way into Capricorn, my natal Saturn placement, I’ve been reflecting on my relationship to discipline/routine and structure.
There was a time when I associated freedom with being “wild.” As my logic followed, structure and discipline, which I saw as the antitheses of wild, were forms of imprisonment.
I hated making schedules, so I forgot a lot of important dates and was often unprepared.
Most things were done last minute or completely forgotten about.
My space (home, office, purse, etc) was in disarray, so I spent a lot of time looking for shit.
I was late 90% of the time.
Basically, I was a HOT ASS MESS.
And, I was wasting a lot of time and energy!
Fed up with the shit show that was me, I chose to confront my resistance to structure and discipline. I slowly began implementing routine and structures into my day to day.
I began with very basic and practical things. Get a laundry basket to put my dirty clothes in. Put my clothes in the basket as soon as I take them off instead of throwing them on the floor. Get a planner to write my schedule in. Take time every morning to set my intentions and goals for the day.
Like establishing any pattern, it took effort and consistency!
Establishing these routines and structures gave me peace of mind and a greater sense of freedom. I was freed from the emotional cycles of stress, worry, and anxiety. I was freed from the insecurity of doing and being half only half of what I was capable of.
The energy that I freed up from my self-defeating actions and their emotional reactions, I was then able to put into creating the people, places, and things that I desired. I became more effective, efficient, and confident.
The reality is that, to build anything in this life, a structure must be created.
I have realized that through creating structure, we allow our blessings to flow in. Say for instance you were given a check for a million dollars. You would need a bank account to access that money, right?!
I see a lot of people blocking their blessings by refusing to create containers for them and by not having the discipline to consistently focus their energy into actualizing what they want.
So often we resist the very things that will set us free.
I know that my Saturn return will continue to expose any resistance that I have to discipline and structure and push me to make peace through action.
In the meantime, I will continue to refine and implement the routines and structures that aid me in building the world of my dreams.
