How did you get into this work as a High Priestess and Dark Energy Worker?
I needed to give myself permission to enter into the deepest, darkest part of my psyche to find healing, wholeness, and liberation. There is a series of pain and suffering that the High Priestess must go through in life that inevitably arises once she enters the darkness of the Underworld. This is considered to be a shamanic initiation. The journey of chaos that the High Priestess takes on, often leads to unusual states of psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual strength. Those who have gone through this initiatory crisis are more gifted, more compassionate and wiser once they have gone through the process. These experiences of suffering, which are usually felt as fear, hurt, pain, anger, rage, defeat, disappointment or a failure of strength, I have discovered that they are the basis of the High Priestess being purged and tried in the fire, rising above adversity, and transmuting dark energies to her advantage. In my own healing process, I was able to find empowerment from within. The source of all of the imbalance in my life was due to me living life unconsciously. It was like I was going through life on autopilot, unconsciously reacting to everything life threw at me, until I consciously integrated the darker aspects of my being and developed a healthy internal relationship with my Self. I needed to heal and release all that was not true about myself. I was experiencing disharmony, tension, animosity and lack of agreement within myself. I learned to make my own decisions and I had to stop listening to what everybody else was telling me that I should do for my life, because it was fighting against everything within me. I had to face all of my fears, constant negative cycles of abuse, pain, anger, rage, defeat, and constant disappointments. I needed to face all the boogeymen in my closet and get to the roots of how all my problems began and come face to face with all of my deepest fears and failures. I was afraid of seeing the reality of certain situations in my life because it was very painful and so it was more comfortable for me to choose to believe the lies and gloss over situations that seriously needed attention. I had to start doing what felt right to me, spiritually. I gave myself permission to explore different spiritual paths and customs and ways of being. I gave myself permission to believe that everything that people say is bad is not so bad and I integrated more of the darker aspects into my life. I gave myself permission to be a “bad” witch. I made the unacceptable, acceptable. (I still do) Sometimes the choices that I had to make were difficult, it wasn’t right for everyone else, but it was necessary for my healing, wholeness and liberation. I gave myself permission to be totally and unapologetically Selfish. I followed what was right in my heart. I did what worked for me, and what made me feel good. I had to educate myself and learn how to protect myself spiritually.
I see this title, “High Priestess” popping up more and more lately. It seems that a lot of women are resonating with this energy and are wanting to walk the path of the High Priestess. What is your definition of the High Priestess? What is the energy of this archetype and the path that she must walk?
For me, the High Priestess is more than just a title, it is a calling. She is the Black Witch, the Sorceress. The High Priestess is the guardian of the unconscious. She sits at the gate of the unconscious. The High Priestess is the feminine principle that brings the balance and is the mysterious unknown that women represent. In readings, the High Priestess poses a challenge for you to go deeper, and to look beyond the obvious surface of the situation to what is hidden. She also asks you to realize your potential and to remember the unlimited powers that you hold within yourself. High Priestess is mother to many, has a very keen discernment, and is able to intuitively and compassionately guide and assist souls on their healing journey with wisdom. The High Priestess is both kind and cruel, wise and unwise. She embraces her darker nature, and she understands human emotion and human weakness. The High Priestess is the epitome of Feminine Power. Feminine power is the all-seeing mirror, the Great Universal Healer, the creative source, the open heart. She is provocative. She stirs things up and pierces through the shadows to reveal what was hidden. She gives life, and also takes it away when change is necessary and death to the old is the only option. The High Priestess shines a light upon what is constricted in fear, doubt, guilt and shame. She is equated with personal power, personal responsibility and personal evolution. Feminine power creates waves, earthquakes, volcanoes and whirlwinds. She creates beauty and chaos. She does not vibrate with the consciousness of victim-hood, projections of fear and weakness, manipulation or abuse. That would be outside of the High Priestess element. These are energies that arise through deep fear of what feminine power means and represents. The energy of the High Priestess archetype is omnipotent, all-powerful, loving, deeply healing, free, transformative, sensual, seductive, alluring, wild, uncontainable, limitless, hypnotic, intoxicating, crazy, intense, dominant, cruel, violent and destructive.
You are also a Dark Energy Worker. I’ve noticed a preoccupation and exaltation with this concept of “light” and “positive” energy in certain spiritual communities. What is a Dark Energy Worker? What is the importance in people being able to embrace, to honor, and to integrate the “dark” aspects of life and of self?
Dark energy can be used to help, heal, hinder, hurt or destroy. A Dark Energy Worker is a Sorceress. She embraces, honors and integrates the dark aspects of self and life and has the ability to understand natural human tendencies. Working with dark energy comes with a heavy responsibility. We need to learn to consciously control the actions of our darker nature instead of denying it and trying to act like it’s not there. It is a belief that when you ignore or turn against the Gods (Parts of the Psyche), they will turn against you and they will destroy you. Any part of yourself that you disown within, turns against you, and you unconsciously destroy yourself. Society has given the Dark Worker a bad reputation because many people are afraid of the darkness, afraid of what lies in the shadows of their own psyches, and they are terrified of their own darkness and terrified of change and death. The Dark Energy Worker has the ability to help others handle the changes of life with comfort, making the unconscious conscious in order to reveal truth. A Dark Energy Worker knows and understands themselves on a deep spiritual level, being that they are self aware, and not ashamed to admit when they feel natural human emotions such as anger, hatred, rage, contempt or disdain towards enemies. The Dark Energy Worker takes matters into their own hands and creates their own reality, instead of being just a passive recipient. They create the life that they want by taking control of their own vibration and environment. We feel most secure when we can take control and rid ourselves of unwanted influences in our lives. The Dark Worker aligns with universal forces and consciously and purposely directs those energies. We make things happen for ourselves instead of allowing it to chance, or fate, or waiting for an outside source to do it. We do it. We are God. We are the Masters of our own destiny. Working with dark energy means tapping into your own personal power and understanding that YOU are the Creator of your own mini Universe. You are the Master of your Life and Fate. You are in Control. You can change your thoughts, attitudes, feelings and behavioral patterns (habits), you can also change and influence other people’s thoughts, attitudes, feelings and behavior to work for you and in so doing, you can change the outcome of situations, circumstances, and even your destiny. You have the power to change your life and the lives of other people. The Dark Worker’s Power has no limits and knows no bounds. They have no fear of death or change. As Maya Angelou once said, “If you don’t like something, change it.” To change something, we have to take action. And so, it is the same with working with dark energy; it is an action-oriented, “faith” approach to life, a way to change and master one’s own destiny. It means remembering who you are and what your purpose in life is. It means knowing what you want and making it happen. It means seeking wisdom, instruction, and spiritual guidance. It means gaining the self-discipline you need to overcome life’s difficulties and challenges. The dark energy worker possesses raw power that can change situations and circumstances in one’s life and help find liberation and healing from struggles. One can overcome obstacles that seems to be blocking them from achieving anything in life.
I healed my fear of rejection, the feeling of not belonging or feeling out of place, I felt like I had to be a certain way in order to accepted. I started doing what I felt I should do for me and trusting myself instead of asking somebody else what I should do, or who I should be or what they feel is best for me. I dealt with all of the hurts of my past. I processed it, understood why it happened and the ways it caused me to destroy myself, and the ways it was making me destroy the people I love. I dealt with how I allowed other people to hurt me because I had no personal boundaries. I grieved my pain and I forgave myself. I changed what I had control over. I had to start standing up for myself, and confronting things in my life that I was allowing that continued to cause me more pain and suffering. So I started to say, “No” to what other people wanted me to do and I gave myself permission to only do what I felt like doing and what makes me happy and I didn’t give a fuck about how anybody else felt about it, because I was focused on loving me, taking care of me and making myself a priority. The anger and rage that I felt, I transmuted that dark energy into empowerment once I became conscious of why I was so angry and who or what was actually causing me the most grief. The anger empowered me to stand up for myself, set boundaries and confront the people who were abusing me. I learned to accept and embrace my power by learning to think for myself. I developed self-authority. I had to confront all of my enemies, regardless of who they were and I started telling them what I wanted them to do and what they were going to do instead of asking or begging them to please stop bothering me. I allowed the warrior spirit within me to rise up and conquer and demolish anyone who stood in my fucking way. I confronted whoever needed to be confronted, whether it was physically or in the spiritual realm. If I felt they were causing internal or external conflict, they are considered to be my enemies. I took an active stand against the forces that were coming against me. Standing for your personal rights and demanding justice is healing and empowerment. Getting revenge on enemies feels more empowering than turning the other cheek, forgiving them, becoming easy prey and allowing them to destroy you. Teaching enemies a lesson and banishing them from your environment is healthy for your emotions. It cleanses you and heals you of those toxic and malignant emotions, and you know that you are in control of your life, and nothing or no one has power over you. I healed my fears of inadequacy and failure…and I came to realize that I am powerful beyond measure. My worth does not depend on anyone’s inability to see my greatness. I believe that I am the fucking bomb! I am awesome. I’m Da Baddest Witch!
I was introduced to you when someone shared one of your YouTube ritual videos with me. It’s always interesting to me that two people can do the same ritual and get completely different results. It can work for one person and not for the other. What is your perspective on the most essential components of ritual? What does a person need to bring into the ritual to get the results they desire?
I believe the most essential components of ritual would be first to know yourself. The true magick is really inside of you. You are magickal. Being conscious of your body and giving honor to your temple (earth). Knowing what you believe, and standing in your truth (air). Knowing what you feel and what you want, and pay attention to your own intuition (water). Knowing what is important to you, going after your hearts deepest desire, goal setting and pursuing what you are passionate about (fire). Magic always works for those who know how to work it. The Universe loves a stubborn heart. The reason why it can work for one person and not the other because each person and each situation is very different, it has a lot to do with what level of consciousness you are on, what frequency you are on and your vibration. The candles, oils, herbs, minerals, stones, crystals, curios and magickal tools are only conscious tools that help us gain access to the subconscious. In order for one to truly get the results they desire they must make what is unconscious, conscious. In order for one to get the results they desire, it takes lots and lots of faith and patience, and also lots of conscious work. Black Magic is a proactive lifestyle, it is not a quick fix to life’s complicated problems. It took some time for you to get into this mess and it will take time to get out of it.
What is one of your favorite rituals?
Ritual is my lifestyle. Everything I do daily is a part of ritual, from greeting the Ancestors, to Spiritual Showers, to my personal hygiene and grooming, my diet and exercise, to my entire agenda for the day. (More simple than it sounds, I promise) It is important for me to plan my day. But one of my favorite rituals would be soaking in a spiritual bath, with candles lit, for a few hours as I sip on a glass of wine. I absolutely love water, it relaxes me. Another favorite ritual for me is destruction & chaos to enemies. I think I love doing dark works most of all. I believe that working curses is a good way to cleanse ourselves of toxic and malignant emotions. Somebody needs to pay and it sure as hell won’t be me! Lol I love self-care and self-healing rituals, beautiful scenery, connecting with nature, listening to music or just sitting in silence is a great way to stay grounded. Oh and I love me some weed conjure!
What’s next for you?! What are you dreaming about and conjuring up?
Right now I am in transition, and everything is happening so fast for me. I have so many plans, and so many things that I want to do. I plan to interact with the public a little more, but I admit that I am a bit of an introvert and I’m always so busy. I never imagined myself being here, at this point in my life. My wildest dreams are manifesting now! My goal is to inspire, empower, educate, motivate and challenge other witches to step up and take things to the next level. Be unique, Be original, Be authentic. My mission is to help the community by empowering women to love themselves, trust themselves and to discover their true purpose in life. I will continue to offer private Consultations and Spiritual & Relationship Counseling via Skype with clients from all over the world. I am providing Wellness Retreats to Ecuador. Definitely expect more great video topics. I plan to be doing a lot more teaching, and being more transparent about my healing journey because so many people need empowerment. I plan to educate myself more. I’m still growing and learning (I always consider myself a student of the Universe) and I love being transparent, because I believe there is healing and tremendous power in transparency. It makes people feel that someone can relate to what they are going through. I like to speak on dark topics that most people feel uncomfortable with, things that excites and stirs people up. I make the unconscious conscious, that’s my purpose. I am releasing an e-book of my autobiography very soon. My book is about my life and my journey. I am mentoring a group of witches and I am starting a coven. I am looking for a group of bad-ass, sexy Dark Ladies & Lords to join with me and help me take over the world!
Who are some Black Femme Witches that inspire you?
My Grandmother inspired me the most. She was a strong black woman and my very own daughters have inspired me in so many ways. Other black women that represent feminine power for me (Even though they may or may not consider themselves to be witches) are Audre Lourde, Oprah, Josephine Baker, Alice Walker, Angela Davis, Maya Angelou, Marie Laveau, Angela Bassett, Phylicia Rashad, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, etc. Dr. G. Love, Aquarius Maximus, Dark Mother Rising, Hoodoo Goddess, Ericka Hart, Rashida KhanBey are all an inspiration to me.… there are so many! And of course, you, Jamila, for providing this space for black femme witches! You have inspired me and thank you for this platform for me to share my story.
